GUEST INFORMATION
How we can help
Our aim is to help you, the 'independent traveller', find the right accommodation.

Inspected properties
London, being an exciting cosmopolitan city, can sometimes be a trap for the visitor; demand is greater than supply and many advertised properties are not what they seem.  Our properties are regularly inspected, some by the Tourist Board, but all of them by us, so we have first hand knowledge of the property and area.  We also know the owners and managers and, of course, we get regular feedback from our guests.

Value for money
Whatever the standard of property you choose, from simple to luxurious, we believe in value for money and we take on only those properties that offer this.

Changeover days
This can be any day to suit you, except for a few properties where Sunday arrivals are not possible.

Arrivals
Arrival time is usually 2 pm to enable cleaning to be done between lets.  If you wish to go into your apartment earlier in the day, we suggest you book the previous night (this is, of course, subject to availability).

Extra days
These are charged pro rata to the weekly charge.

Parking
This is very difficult and/or expensive in central London and the inner suburbs.  Street parking will normally be on a meter on weekdays and Saturday morning.  It is easier to park in outer London.

Transport
All properties are within walking distance of public transport.  Note the London Travel Card (available daily, weekly or monthly) covers ALL transport (bus, tube, train) in the chosen zones, tubes and trains being interlinked.  The central Travel Card covers zones 1 and 2.

Telephones
All properties have telephones, most with internet access by arrangement.

Terminology
We use English terms throughout to avoid confusion.
Lower ground floor - London period houses often have a few steps up to an upper ground floor, slightly above ground level, and also steps down to the floor below, slightly below street level.  This is the lower ground floor, and it has windows to the street and often a small terrace/patio.  Some of our nicest apartments are lower ground floor as they often have pleasant gardens.
First floor, second floor, etc. - first floor refers to the floor above ground level, and so on.
Bathroom - this refers only to a room with a bath or a shower.  Rooms with a WC and hand basin only are not bathrooms in England.
Beds - 'double bed' is normally the standard English double (4' wide).
Cot - is a baby's crib.
Washer-Dryer - this is a washing machine with a drying cycle, not a separate dryer.

Serviced apartments
These are an ideal choice for the business or holiday traveller who wants to combine many of the comforts and services of a hotel with the privacy and space of an apartment.  Most of them have 24-hour reception and concierge services, and maid service between two and seven days a week, the most common being a five-day maid service.  Very few have restaurants on the premises, but they all have many within a few minutes walk.  Kitchens are fully-equipped.  Bathrooms have bath and shower (or shower only), WC and hand basin.  Sitting and dining rooms are excellently decorated and equipped.  All have TV (and often video and satellite/cable TV is also available) and direct-dial telephone.  Minimum stays are normally three nights.

Unserviced apartments
These are more like living in your own home.  Many have a once-a-week cleaning service and linen change, but in a few there is no servicing during rentals.  Room layout is the same as for serviced apartments.  All have TV and telephones.
