A pretty village north of London but very conveniently located.

Two cottages on a working farm (mainly arable with some cattle and horses) only 30 minutes from central London from the local station Welwyn North (25 miles by road).  Although it is possible to stay here without a car, using taxis for collecting shopping, a car is recommended.  Hertford 8 miles.  Cambridge is just over half an hour's drive, Oxford is approximately 1 hour.  Luton Airport under half an hour.  The pretty village of Old Welwyn is approximately 1 mile away and has shops, several pubs, post office and church.  Many more shops and supermarkets in Welwyn Garden City (5 miles) or Hatfield.  Within 10 miles are cinemas, golf courses, swimming pools, horse riding, tennis, etc.  The Roman city of St Albans with its Cathedral, Abbey and Roman remains (including the famous Baths) is 7 miles away. The Lodge (pictured above and interior right), originally built in 1912 for the gamekeeper, was completely refurbished in 1992 and is now a high quality property, situated in a woodland setting away from the main farm with a large fenced garden and terrace overlooking fields.  It is two storeys with, downstairs, large sitting room with French doors, kitchen/dining room, utility room, shower room/WC.  Upstairs, one double bedroom, bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, bathroom with bath and WC, shower room.  Wash basin in each bedroom. Shire Barn was totally renovated in 1999 and is now a high quality cottage located in the farmyard area adjacent to open countryside with fenced patio area and views over the fields.  It is two storeys with, downstairs, well-equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room, bedroom with bunk beds.  Upstairs, lovely large double bedroom with exposed timbers, bathroom with bath with shower over and WC.
